Koffee Labo was founded out of our passion to help people fulfill their dreams of becoming baristas. We strive to provide the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to help you in your journey to become a barista whilst having fun along the way.
We focus on private 1-on-1 lessons which means students get the trainer’s full attention, instant personalised feedback and plenty of practice to learn quickly and effectively.

Sensory & Filter Coffee Trainer - Kazuki Nagatomi (Tommy)
Kazuki Nagatomi, or Tommy, is our trainer for Sensory and Filter Coffee lessons.
Since falling in love with coffee, especially filter coffee 3 years ago, Tommy has built his knowledge in filter coffee and sensory skills rapidly, even winning the 2023 Victoria Aeropress Championship.​
He is passionate about his love and knowledge in filter coffee to everyone who wishes to learn more about the filter coffee side of the coffee world, and train anyone who wishes to one day take part in coffee competitions.
Tommy's teaching style is hands-on and practical, and hopes to make everyone's coffee life more fun and enjoyable whether it is at home or professionally.

Head Trainer - Gerard Ong
Head trainer Gerard Ong brings over 7 years of experience working in cafes and coffee shops in Australia and Japan. With his extensive background in the industry, he possesses a deep understanding of the craft of coffee-making.

He believes that coffee is fun and is passionate about helping you learn and become a barista while having fun along the journey. Gerard is fluent in English, Japanese and Chinese, allowing him to teach effectively with a diverse range of students and help make the learning process comfortable and enjoyable.
